Elaying Solidaire

Just days after launching the Open by the ocean~~~, the Scrabblers of Malta are opening their hearts, minds and pockets to welcome those souls who are not or cannot be part of that warm and convivial atmosphere which the game and Club never fail to create.

On 8 December, feast of the Immaculate Conception, the Scrabblers will form a congregation for a mass held specifically to pay their respects to the departed amongst their fellow members, their loved ones and international players who in their lifetime played in the Malta Open.

Immediately after this commemorative ritual, the Scrabblers will celebrate their own ludic liturgy with the first of three days of the 3-Day Yearend Scrabble Tournament at the University Residence, Lija.

After Day 2 on Republic Day on 13 December at the same venue, the Scrabblers will gather again for a day at the Hilltop Gardens on 16 December to include a small group of new converts to the game who reside there.

All proceeds and funds raised from this event will go the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation as part of its annual fund-raising campaign, L-Istrina
