The Malta Scrabble Club is the proud recipient of a certificate, signed and presented by Her Excellency, the President of the Republic of Malta, Dr Marie Louise Coleiro Preca (left in photo) in grateful recognition of the Club's efforts to contribute to the national fund-raising campaign L-Istrina, organised by the Malta Community Chest Fund. These efforts yielded a total donation of €250. 

Receiving the certificate in the course of a ceremony featuring scores of sports organisations which had participated in the campaign's sports section, called Solidarjetà mill-Qalb, were Club President Nicky Vella Laurenti (right in photo) and Club Secretary Josephine Mayo (middle in photo). The latter was the best fund-raiser among all those who had entered and played in the Yearend 3-Day Tournament held last year, in which tournament Mayo had also been the overall winner.  

In addition to the individual fund-raising endeavours of its members, the Malta Scrabble Club had also foregone all revenue from the tournament for L-Istrina.
