Eelicata, Brousson in perfect duopoly

They've dropped just three games apiece, creating a ten-point hiatus from third place.

This is how, after eighteen games and one round-robin, David Delicata and Theresa Brousson* (seen in photo), winners of seventeen National Championship titles between them, have raced well ahead of their closest rivals Moira Fenech and Sammy Mangion in the first division of the 36th Malta National Scrabble Championship. Further down, Mario Saliba and Charles Micallef are struggling to find their balance let alone some momentum after a rocky start. With two more rounds to go, will the league table get longer or flatter?

In Division II, Anna Borg's seasonal abstinence from competition did not dilute her appetite and form as she heads the table from Albert Zammit in second and Kevin Pirotta in third. In the half-marathon, Paul Mifsud tops the table with Marlene Calleja and Reno Zammit sitting in second and third place respectively.
